Natural World
In nature, I see the personality of God. I see harmony, complexity, and creativity. Anyone can see the power and beauty of nature, even from mere images of it. But to sit in the midst of the trees and feel that power in the air is something altogether different, something our spirits long for.
I’m accused of being a pantheist, but I’m no more that than I am a worshipper of Nature or Earth, God or Buddha. Words words words, people. What I worship is whatever the hell you want to call that presence you feel when you are at peace, breathing pure air and unfocused on the self. I find this easiest to do in the forest, by the rivers, in the desert, or in the mountains. It is my most earnest ambition to live in a totally natural environment, untouched by the ugly hand of civilization.
For now, I just get out there when I can, thankful for a break from the metal and concrete, the glass and the lights, the noise and the smells. We are blessed with an exceptionally beautiful world, much of which is at our disposal to explore. Don’t miss out on it!
