Stories of Adventure – To read about the wild times I’ve had on my travels, check out the adventure archives. These include a wide range of travel experiences I’ve had, such as moving off to Hawaii on a whim, backpacking around Europe, working as a realtor in Boston, exploring the wilderness in the Rocky Mountains, sailing down to Mexico and disembarking at some random town to live on the beach and explore the jungle, eating peyote in the desert, having a spiritual revelation in Canada, ordaining as a novice in a Buddhist monastery. These adventures find me exploring big cities, bushwhacking around whatever wilderness areas I can find, hitch hiking, sneaking into and poking around abandoned factories and warehouses, sleeping in the streets and hanging with homeless people, partying with people I’ve just met, and kicking it with my close friends. I haven’t yet posted all of my tales of past adventure, and I keep on having more, so there will always be new things to be found in the adventure archives.
People in My Life – I’ve written rather extensively about the various people whom I’ve known and who have shared some of my adventures. The Cast tells the stories of many people who have been part of my life, and what kinds of crazy things we’ve gotten into together.
Picture Archives – Most of my pictures correspond to various adventures, but I’ve also put together some photography projects that focus on various things like cities, nature, people, and the variety of things we humans are always doing. I don’t consider myself a masterful photographer, but I have lots of fun with it and see it as an art form as much as a tool for documenting the spectacular sights I see along my way. Sections like the natural world and favorite places are also primarily photo collections, for those who are interested in photography of beautiful places.
Spirituality – I’ve found it impossible to avoid spiritual matters when seeking out that which lies behind all that we see, and I’ve explored a wide variety of spiritual traditions over the last few years, piecing together my own understanding of the divine from the clues left behind by teachers from across the ages. Although a significant number of my adventures and writings come from a time in my life when I rejected spirituality all together, I’ve gotten increasingly interested in the unseen realities since those wilder years. The path I now walk is one of service to higher powers, a life dedicated to personal spiritual growth and to the healing of others and of our planet.
A New Human Culture - The specifics of what my spiritual calling entails is outlined in this section, where I explore the problems society now faces, and some suprisingly simple solutions to even the most overwhelming of them. If you’ve ever dreamed about changing the world, this is a good section to look into.
Fiction - I don’t write as much fiction as I used to, though I’m currently working on what I think is my best novel yet, and I’m soon to publish an old book I wrote that I’ve just recently redone, so there’s still much more fiction to come. My short stories are fun, but I don’t consider them masterpieces, by any stretch of the imagination. My first two novels, A Savage Life and Lost Angels are worth a read, though they are very different from each other, and they appeal to different audiences. I’ve also got a handful of pretty short little novels that I wrote in college, which I plan to publish online sometime in the near future. These are very obviously early works, which I would never attempt to publish seriously, but which might provide some entertainment for the avid reader.
Poetry - I’ve never been a big reader of poetry, but I love to write poems, and I have a pretty ecclectic collection of poems that delve into the confounding depths of love, the infuriating yet somehow beautiful wrongness of modern society, the majesty of nature, the heights of passion and the unassuming sighs of apathy, and the funny little things mundane that sometimes catch our notice.
Other Writings - Includes things like academic work, (a few of my papers from college) rantings and ravings, (just that) movies, music, and literature sections (which are far underdeveloped at this point…) and the blog, which I use to post updates on my latest adventures and random thoughts.
