What’s New
Although I often put up new blog posts and send out emails to let people know that I’ve put new material up, I decided it might be handy to have a page that lists the most recent site updates so that anyone returning to the site after some time away can quickly take a look at all that’s gone down (or gone up, I suppose) since they last visited.
I’ve been living out in Oregon, getting a new way of life started, so I’m writing about that on the blog as it unfolds. But before I left, I put a bunch of stuff up, including:
Ready or Not! - A look at the last song on the second disc of Radiohead’s In Rainbows, Four Minute Warning. This article would be hot to the touch should it be tangible… but it’s a very serious matter, so I figured I’d discuss the upcoming police state takeover briefly.
Sovereignty - A new piece in the rantings and ravings section.
Late Night Rambling By Monitor Light - An old narrative I found in my archives, pondering the paradox of following a spiritual calling while still sensing the world as a sensual being.
Solemn Night, Joyful Dawn - A new poem I’ve posted. It’s actually old… though I don’t know what era. I came across it in one of my old notebooks.
Road Trip To Utah - A minor adventure that I thought I had published long ago, but that I discovered was nowhere to be found, so now it’s up.
Drawings - I scanned lots of old art and pictures I drew during my notetaking in college classes and posted them in a new section of the photography page.
Places Of My Life - I added some new photo albums of major places in my life, some of which are connected to corresponding stories and write ups. Further writings are to follow, but for now I’ve just posted pictures from the time I’ve spent in places like Waco, Boston, New Braunfels, San Antonio, and Kentucky.
First Baptist Church - I’ve been meaning to get this section of the site fully uploaded for a long time, but it’s quite extensive, and I keep coming up with more that I want to do with it before I finish old projects. Lately, however, I’ve been adding photos from classic church events like backpacking trips, youth camps and choir tours, as well as pictures of people from First Baptist. Mini Adventures - I recently added this section to document all the fun I have going on day trips to interesting places, hanging out with friends, or getting into some form mischief or another. Thus far I have only a few up, but more will continue to pop up. (Already up are A Magical Night, Walden Pond, Shaker Village, Maker’s Mark, and Exploring the UTSA Tunnels.)
Friedrich Wilderness
A New Human Culture - This is a section that I’ve been working on to help explain what kind of work I’m doing in the eco-community I’ve joined, and what all I went through in life that led me to this path. A very effective solution to a majority of the planets most critical problems is currently in the process of being organized, and this section describes my attempt to get involved in this cultural transition, which involves a well established and long practiced technique for living and managing land and resources known as permaculture.
Member’s Section - The Members Only section, which originated as a place for me to write blog posts about my travels in Mexico that were a bit too racy and juicy to be avaiable to the public, is now up and running again, though I’m still in the process of adding material there. I’ve got a whole lineup of cool stuff that will be only available to members, including stories that will be password protected or merchandise on the main site. Anyone who is an avid reader of this site will want to become a member, and membership is open to anyone, provided he/she agrees to the terms of membership, which are stipulated on the member’s section intro page.
